The Italian Econometric Association (SIdE-IEA), in collaboration with the Bank of Italy, organizes the 5th Workshop for PhD students in Econometrics and Empirical Economics (WEEE). The aim of the workshop is twofold: first, we want to give junior researchers an opportunity to present their research project and receive feedback from senior reviewers and from the audience of the workshop. Second, we want to provide a natural prosecution to the introductory and advanced courses in econometrics for PhD students organized by the SIdE-IEA and enlarge the already rich community of junior and senior researchers in econometrics and empirical economic and business disciplines.

Topics

Doctoral students and young researchers are invited to submit preliminary, medium or advanced stage papers that can mature into a chapter of the final dissertation and/or submitted for publication on international journals. A wide range of topics on econometrics and empirical economics can be submitted for presentation at the workshop. Contributions in business disciplines and applied marketing are also warmly encouraged for submission. A committee composed by members of the steering committee of the SIdE-IEA, by members of the scientific and directive council of the SIdE and by researchers at the Bank of Italy will select the papers invited for presentation at the workshop. Each paper will be assigned to one or more discussants among senior researchers who will provide comments and suggestions during and after the presentation. Moreover, time will be left for informal discussions. The participation to the workshop is also opened to external auditors. Participants are expected to stay both days.

Deadline

Papers must be submitted as a PDF file via email to weee@side-iea.it. Each paper must contain a short abstract, all the relevant information of the corresponding author (and, eventually, of all the co-authors) and must be written in English. Preliminary versions of papers will also be considered. All presentations and discussions will be in English. The submission must be completed with the inclusion of a CV of the corresponding author. The deadline for submitting the paper is May 21st 2017. Notification of acceptance will be communicated by June 15th 2017.

Program

The final program will be available at the end of the selection process and will be published on the web page of the SIdE-IEA.
