Seventh Italian Congress of Econometrics and Empirical Economics

SIdE is pleased to announce the Seventh Italian Congress of Econometrics and Empirical Economics (ICEEE 2017), which will take place January 25-27, 2017, in Messina, Italy.

Economists, statisticians and econometricians are invited to submit theoretical and applied papers in all areas of econometrics and empirical economics for presentation at the Congress.

Submission of papers:

Papers can be submitted from June 1, 2016 (with a limit of one paper per submitter) at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iceee7th . The deadline for submission is September 30, 2016. The decision notification date is November 20, 2016.

 

Prizes:

One prize of Euro 1,500 will be awarded to the best conference papers written by young scientists in Macroeconometrics or Financial Econometrics (Carlo Giannini Prize, offered by SIdE). One prize of Euro 2,500 will be awarded to the best conference papers written by young scientists in Theoretical or Applied Microeconometrics (Labour Prize, offered by LABOUR: Review of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations). For eligibility to both prizes, all authors of a paper must be no more than 4 years past the PhD defense.

How to reach Messina:

by plane :

The nearest airport is Reggio Calabria airport, "Tito Minniti." (www.aeroportodellostretto.it/en/). At the airport exit you can find a small free shuttle bus that takes you to a nearby pier where you can board a fast boat (nave veloce) to Messina. Tickets are sold on board. Click here for details.
The journey takes around 35 minutes. The fast boat will take you to the Messina harbour, very close to the destinations of interestin the city center.

 

You may fly to Catania Airport "Fontana Rossa" (http://www.aeroporto.catania.it/?lang=en) which has more International connections. Exiting from the Arrivals Building, the stop of the bus company SAIS (traveling to Messina) is on the right side. Tickets are sold on board by the driver. Click here for the timetable.

by train:

There are 6 trains daily from Rome (8–9 hr.) that pass through Naples (6 hr.). Check the timetable at www.trenitalia.com.

 

 

Social program:

The 25th evening there will be a welcome cocktail at “Il Circolo” starting from 7.45 pm (Via G. Garibaldi, 136, 98121 Messina). The 26th evening at 20.45 there will be the conference dinner at Ristorante La Durlindana (Via Nicola Fabrizi 143, 98123 Messina). A contribution of 35 euro is required and you can both pay by cash at the conference venue or better register here by selecting the register button.
