10th SIdE Workshop for PhD students in Econometrics and Empirical Economics (WEEE)
Bertinoro, 1-2 September 2022
Should Covid-19 continue to challenge our ability to run our programs in person, the workshop will be organized online
The Italian Econometric Association (SIdE-IEA), in collaboration with the Bank of Italy, organizes the 10th Workshop for PhD students in Econometrics and Empirical Economics (WEEE). The aim of the workshop is twofold: first, we want to give junior researchers an opportunity to present their research project and receive feedback from senior reviewers and from the audience of the workshop. Second, we want to provide a natural prosecution to the introductory and advanced courses in econometrics for PhD students organized by the SIdE-IEA and enlarge the already rich community of junior and senior researchers in econometrics and empirical economic and business disciplines.
Doctoral students and young researchers are invited to submit preliminary, medium or advanced stage papers that can mature into a chapter of the final dissertation and/or submitted for publication on international journals. A wide range of topics on econometrics and empirical economics can be submitted for presentation at the workshop. Contributions in business disciplines and applied marketing are also warmly encouraged for submission. A committee composed by members of the steering committee of the SIdE-IEA and by researchers at the Bank of Italy will select the papers invited for presentation at the workshop. Each paper will be assigned to one or more discussants among senior researchers who will provide comments and suggestions during and after the presentation. Moreover, time will be left for informal discussions. Participants are expected to stay both days.
Papers must be submitted as a PDF file via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Each paper must contain a short abstract, all the relevant information of the corresponding author (and, eventually, of all the co-authors) and must be written in English. Preliminary versions of papers will also be considered. All presentations and discussions will be in English. The submission must be completed with the inclusion of a CV of the corresponding author. The deadline for submitting the paper is May 25th 2022. Notification of acceptance will be communicated by June 15th 2022.
The selected papers can be downloadable from the left column of this page in the section "Public attachments"
The inclusion of the paper in the final program is subject to the conclusion of the membership and course registration process, completing all payments by 5th July 2022.
The workshop is reserved to SIDE-IEA members (yearly membership fee €80, see http://www.side-iea.it/become-member). The workshop participation fee is €250 for SIDE-IEA members and covers expenditures for accommodation and meals (breakfast and lunch, but no dinner) during the two days of the workshop. In case the course is delivered online, participation fee is reduced to €150.
