SIdE is pleased to announce the eleventh edition of the Italian Congress of Econometrics and Empirical Economics (ICEEE) which will take place May 29-31, 2025 at the Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali e Statistiche, University of Palermo.
Economists, statisticians and econometricians are invited to submit theoretical and applied papers in all areas of econometrics and empirical economics for presentation at the Congress.

Submission of papers:
Papers can be submitted from July 18, 2024 (with a limit of one paper per submitter) at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iceee2025palermo
The deadline for submissions is December 20th, 2024 (midnight).
The decision notification date is February 1st, 2025.
Prizes:
- One prize of 2500 EUR for the best conference papers written by young scientists in Macroeconometrics or Financial Econometrics (Carlo Giannini Prize, offered by SIdE and the Bank of Italy).
- One prize of 2500 EUR for the best conference papers written by young scientists in Theoretical or Applied Microeconometrics (Labour Prize, offered by LABOUR: Review of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations).
For eligibility to both prizes, all authors of a paper must be no more than 4 years past the PhD defense
All participants will be requested to express their interest for the prizes and send their curriculum to info@side-iea.it by 28th March 2025. The winners will be announced during the Conference.

The March 31st 2025 deadline is mandatory for a presenter to be included in the scientific program of the conference.

Travel Information:
There are several ways to travel to Palermo: by plane, by train and by boat.
By Plane:
The international airport of Palermo is about 30 km from the heart of the city. It has daily connections to other popular Italian cities as well other major cities throughout Europe.
Connections from/to the airport:
By train. Trains run regularly every half an hour from the railway station Palermo Aeroporto at Floor -1 of the airport terminal to the city center. The trip to Palermo Centrale (the main station of Palermo) takes around 50 minutes and costs around 6.80 euros. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines and online on the website https://www.trenitalia.com/. This train service is called “la metro” because the train stops at various stations in Palermo. By bus. The bus stops for all destinations are located at the exit of the terminal (Ground floor – Arrivals Area) on the right and are well indicated by the reference tables.
By bus. The bus line to Palermo is called Prestia e Comandé (www.prestiaecomande.it). The service runs daily every half an hour from early in the morning until late at night. It takes around 50 minutes to get to Palermo Centrale and makes various stops in between, which are different from those made by the metro. The ticket can be purchased at the airport, on the bus
By Train:
The main train station in Palermo, Stazione Centrale, is located in the Old Town District. Tickets can be purchased online at the Trenitalia website https://www.trenitalia.com/.
By Boat:
Palermo’s harbor is directly connected via waterway to Genoa, Naples, Civitavecchia, Cagliari, and Salerno. The journey duration from Palermo to Naples is approximately 8-12 hours, from Genoa is about 20 hours, from Civitavecchia is 12 hours approximately, and from Cagliari the journey duration is abot 12 hours.
